Hi! My name is Irantzu Suberviola...

…and I am originally from Bilbao, Spain. After living in a few different places, my adventures took me to Germany — and since 2012, I’ve been a happy Heidelberg citizen.

I started with design back in college, on a computer bigger than my backpack running Photoshop 5.5. Since then I’ve built a career across web design, digital production and project management — working with research institutions, government bodies, international companies and everything in between.

Do you want to know a little bit more?

Here are 7 (+2) things about me:

1. I deliver. From briefing to launch, I manage the full digital lifecycle of a project — design, content, timelines, stakeholders. Done well, not just done.

2. I speak many languages — not just Spanish, English and German, but also the language of developers, scientists, creatives and clients. I’ve worked with research PIs, government departments and marketing teams, and I know how to communicate across all of them.

3. I’ve worked across very different worlds. Scientific research centres, government bodies, international companies, event software. Small clients. Big companies — each project has taught me to adapt fast, understand the context and deliver something that actually fits. I’m as comfortable building a shoping system interface as I am designing a flyer or a marketing campaign.

4. I am a bit of an Allrounder: Design is my core, but I have a degree in Fine Arts, formal training in graphic design, and years of front and backend development. I can take a project from sketch to screen, alone or as part of a team.

5. If I don’t know how to do something, I find a way to do itGoogle, patience and a bit of tenacity. Always.

6. I work well under pressure. Deadlines don’t scare me — they focus me. I’ve built a career across countries and cultures, which teaches you to be organised, resilient and adaptable.

7. If I don’t know something, I learn fast. New tool, new field, new team — I figure it out. I ask the needed questions, I roll up my sleeves and I get it done.

7+1. Art is a big part of who I am. I paint, I draw, I create as something that’s always been there. That love for making things, for getting the details right, for finding the right composition — it shapes the way I approach everything I do, including my work.

7+2. I love nature and simple things: hiking, biking, geocaching…if it’s outside, it’s for me! Brings me joy, fun and peace when I need it. As well as handmade things.
